On June 3, the Block 6 Intelligent Cargo Terminal at Shanghai Pudong International Airport officially commenced operations. As a core intelligent equipment partner for the project, Wuxi Huiiyun Robotics deployed its full portfolio of independently developed ULD transport robots, forklift AGVs, and latent lift robots. Through an integrated solution combining multi-robot collaboration and conveyor systems, the project has established China's first fully unmanned air cargo terminal covering end-to-end operational scenarios, enabling the efficient sorting of up to 10,000 cargo pieces per hour and providing a new benchmark for intelligent air cargo logistics.
The project represents the first implementation in China’s air cargo industry to integrate multiple categories of mobile robots, four-way shuttle systems, and conveyor technologies within a single operational platform. Huiiyun Robotics’ has deployed , ULD transport robots, forklift AGVs, and latent lift robots operate collaboratively within the same environment, enabling unified route planning, intelligent task allocation, and seamless coordination across warehousing, sorting, and cargo transfer processes.

From a storage perspective, the solution combines high-density automated storage based on elevated four-way shuttle systems with lower-level rack storage served by latent lift robots. This dual-layer storage architecture significantly improves warehouse space utilization and cargo throughput efficiency. The system is further supported by Huiiyun Robotics’ intelligent hybrid charging technology, which automatically schedules charging cycles for different robot types to maintain continuous operational availability and maximize overall productivity. For temperature-controlled logistics operations, the company also developed dedicated cold-storage robot models capable of stable and continuous operation in environments as low as -30°C, meeting the full-range temperature requirements of airport cold-chain warehousing.

Leveraging a fully self-developed technology stack spanning both hardware and software, the intelligent logistics system has achieved cargo sorting rates exceeding 10,000 pieces per hour while reducing labor requirements by approximately 50 percent compared with conventional cargo terminal operations. The deployment addresses longstanding challenges associated with peak-season cargo surges, capacity constraints, and round-the-clock operational demands.

As a technology company focused on the localization and advancement of intelligent aviation logistics solutions, Huiiyun Robotics views the Pudong Airport project as a landmark deployment of its multi-robot integrated solution at a national-level aviation hub. Building on the experience gained from this project, the company plans to further enhance its airport logistics product portfolio and replicate the proven operational model across major airport cargo terminals in China, supporting the continued modernization and intelligent transformation of global air cargo logistics.
